A POTTER'S POEM
Cash-flow projections, production rejections,
consternation mixed with elation.
Stress, mess, try to redress, the balance.
Business analysis, mental dialysis, flooded brain
Donegal rain
Calms
the turbulent flow with nowhere to go
Finds direction, creative stream,
Stuff made of dreams, flexes and weaves
Tries to perceive
A harmony
Dream
Visible
Intangible
Elusive
Effusive
Fuse- won't you
MOONTREE
Luminescent
Soft,subtle
permeating energy
Bathing brittle scales to a soft sheen.
A quiet power comes to life
Wrinkles of surprise adorn your rind,
Alongside memory of sapling stretch, firm, protected.
You caught the moon in your skin one frosty, starry night,
Swaying, gently dreaming under lunar sapphire sky.
KINNEGAR BEACH
A filigree of thrashed twig litters the fabric of quartz sand.
Twins of fat cob nuts, solitary studs of red berries,
Ragged copper oak leaves, all strewn in a random pattern of
gale scattered treasures.
Petite squid like neatly folded umbrellas, sad beauty, translucent
pinky mauve ghosts of flesh, delicately peppered with nutmeg speckles.
They have such beautiful eyes, still now yet still so full of sights of their
magical underwater world.
Dazzling, fine silver- crescent brisling, more life-force frozen in time
- keep them company.
